Trees will always be a source of inspiration for my art. This page shows some directions I have been exploring since the show I had in August 2007 at the Granary Rural Cultural Center, Groton, SD.

A painting within a painting is an idea that may open up some visual possibilities.

This painting started out as another verticle tree composition. Tired of that, I changed direction and this was the result. I gave no thought to the fact that it formed a cross. I thought it to be more of a root than anything else. The word cruciform came from the reactions of friends.
