On the main page there is a painting titled Cruciform Root, it was to be the first of a five painting series exploring the cruciform composition formula. I really do not believe in formulas, but after my artist friends, upon seeing the Cruciform Root painting for the first time, stated "a cruciform", I decided to do cruciforms. In the end I was really pleased with the results.

Again, I refer to the painting Cruciform Root, a visitor to the studio was asking about abstract art. I asked what he saw in that painting, he said it appeared to be "treeish". I hadn't given it any thought but I had to agree. Since they were not like my other tree paintings yet being "treeish" I decided to call them roots.
