There is beauty -even in the hardest places-, a memory of history, and the promise of potential everywhere.” Artistic influences are the writings by Harvey Dunn- “An Evening in the Classroom”, & Robert Henri’- “The Art Spirit”. You can read more about “Nancyjane Huehl’s Hunt for Light” by Bernie Hunhoff in the January-February Issue of South Dakota Magazine. Painting on location or from life enhanced my composing process for any subject I would want to paint. As much as I enjoy the shapes of the chosen subject, I find myself equally attracted to the shapes of space that is around them, which will make or break how the painting reads or conveys an emotion. Since then I often think of myself as a composer involved in the creative process of visual art. In part I am composing a painting with color notes, temperature scales and metered spaces”. |
