In 1908, six women, Helen Scroggs, Ida McNeil, Sade Robinson, Ethel Brink, Grace Wason and Ada Pike, camped by Rapid Creek west of Rapid City. A year later Pierre Lodge was built, later renamed Hisega Lodge. The name derived by the first letter of each of the women's names. The Lodge went through several changes of ownership and renovations and is currently owned by Carol and Kenn Duncan who continue the great traditions of the Lodge. |

Many of the small towns in South Dakota celebrated the anniversary of their birth in 2008. Centerville celebrated it's 125th Anniversary in July 2008. This painting serves to create a piece of history through a window of our past. I painted downtown , as it may have appeared at dusk, when it was starting to come alive on Saturday night. This painting is representative of many towns throughout our nation during this period of history. If interested please contact the artist for price and availability |
