Street markets in the early 1900's, as well as today, was a place where the farmers brought their produce, where one could purchase fruit, vegetables, plants, trees and flowers. The city and country folks traded and did a whole lot of visiting. |

The threshing machine era was a time when community effort was a necessity and independence had to wait for the combine. Grain binders cut the grain, tied it into bundles, and dropped them in the field where they were stacked in shocks to finish drying. |

|
Suppose, just suppose, that the north side of Sixth Street between Phillips and Main in Sioux Falls, had been developed with business shops instead of warehouses. Ron painted this visualization of his imaginative wonderment of "what if". |

The pleasures of a special occasion includes the selection of the correct hat. Easter Sunday was always special and not to be taken lightly. Some say that in this day and age there is no longer any occasions to wear a hat. This is a mistaken belief. The occasions are still there but we no longer give these occasions the distinction they once had. |
