Sioux Falls, SD offers a great variety of urban "landscapes" to draw from. Major landmarks abound like the Big Sioux River Falls, the County Courthouse Muesum, St. Joseph's Cathedral, etc. I almost feel like they should be studio paintings (when I have a studio someday). Meanwhile, I'm pursuing the 'familiar' subjects with hopefully fresh looks in my plein air paintings.

The Flower Market at Sixth and Weber was a quick sketch on a drizzly morning with spots of sunshine.

Not For Sale

The Phillips Avenue Diner is fast becoming a local landmark downtown. People take their directions by it, and maybe even a quick meal on the veranda in the summertime.

I'm giving it to my brother, Dave.
