This highly textured wall platter does have a slight ring of red around the rim. There are some hints of color from behind the large crackles of white on black the black background.

Now on location in Loveland, Colorado!

Big blue was a 3 month project of making lots (did I say lots?)of little buffalo tile and creating a design! After this project, I'll never do another jig saw puzzle!


Each hand made tile was glazed with 4 brushed on coats and then fired on individual stilts.

This large wall platter is the first using this newly discovered Saggar Firing technique. I must thank Charlie and Linda Riggs of NC for this knowledge. Now it's time to really explore.
